Hercilio Varela de Almeida was born in Mozambique, in the province of Zambezia, on the 2nd of March 1960. He did his preliminary studies in Quelimane, and completed his graduation in Germany, in the field of textiles. He worked for the Industry Projects Cabinet in the Ministry of Industry in Maputo. He was in charge of the Department of Textile Training in Mocuba from 1980 to 1986. From 1986 to 1996 he was nominated as a delegated Director in Maputo for MetaloTecnica Lda. From 1996 to date he is running his own business as the Manager of an Agro - Industrial Company called MBC Tratores Lda.
